Nilotica shea (Vitellaria paradoxa subsp. nilotica) is a distinct subspecies grown in northern Uganda and South Sudan. It carries a higher oleic acid content than common West African shea, melts at skin temperature, and is cold-pressed with nothing added and nothing removed.
If you have sensitive or dry skin and prefer short ingredient lists, this is as short as it gets: one ingredient, cold-pressed, with no added fragrance, preservatives, or fillers. Patch-test first — shea comes from a tree nut.
It's also for the ingredient-conscious — people who read INCI lists and want exactly this: one ingredient, nothing added. And who care as much about where it comes from and who it supports.

We're also formalizing a revenue-share with the women's cooperatives who produce our shea, so a percentage of every purchase goes directly back to the communities that grow it.
